This relief sculpture entitled Details of Skin explores different details of human skin. It is inspired by how every person's pore pattern, fingerprints, and hair growth is unique to them. The artwork uses depth and texture to encapsulate the different aspects of human skin and its uniqueness. Another project where I was using masking tape, tracing paper, and gel medium led to a skin-like texture and inspired the use of those materials here as well. The details are magnified to really highlight the aspects of skin that are small and that often are not paid much attention to and to emphasize their uniqueness. This artwork shows the importance of every person being different and how even down to the details of human skin, individuals are unique.
